Everything a remote should do — and more
Made for the couch: big, clear keys and a touchpad that just works.
Touchpad or arrows
Swipe and tap like on the TV’s own remote — or press arrow keys if you prefer buttons.
Type from your phone
When the TV asks for text, type it on your phone’s keyboard instead of hunting for letters.
Your apps in one tap
Pin the apps you watch most and open them on the TV right from the remote.
Volume, mute and power
Turn the sound up or down, mute it and turn the TV on or off — wherever your TV allows it.
Themes and remote styles
Light, dark or something bolder, with a remote style that suits the way you watch.
Build your own remotePRO
Put the keys you need where you want them, then share your layout with a link.
Remote in the notification shadePRO
Play, pause and more from the notification shade and the lock screen, without opening the app.
Private by design
No account, no ads, no analytics. Your phone talks to the TV over your home network, not through our servers.
Make it yours
Pick a theme and a remote style: touchpad, arrows, media keys, joystick — or a layout of your own.

Questions and answers
Which TVs does Just Remote work with?
Apple TV HD and every Apple TV 4K, and TVs and boxes with Android TV or Google TV (their “Android TV Remote Service” needs to be up to date). Samsung TVs with Tizen (2016 and later), LG TVs with webOS (2014 and later), Roku players and Roku TVs, and Amazon Fire TV on Fire OS (Fire TV sticks, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV Edition and Omni TVs) work too, in beta: on a Samsung or LG TV you allow the phone in a dialog on the TV, a Roku connects without one, and a Fire TV shows a 4-digit PIN that you type in the app. Fire TV sticks on Vega OS (Fire TV Stick 4K Select and newer sticks) aren’t checked yet. If something doesn’t work, tell us with Report a problem in the app. More TV platforms will follow.
The app doesn’t find my TV. What should I check?
- Your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks often keep devices apart, so use the main one.
- A VPN on the phone can hide your home network — turn it off for a moment.
- A VPN running on the TV or box itself blocks remote apps (Google’s own too). In the VPN’s split tunneling, exclude “Android TV Remote Service”, or allow local network access in it. A free VPN without these settings has to be off, or run on the router instead.
- Still not listed? Tap Find by IP address and enter the address from the TV’s network settings.
- Apple TV: Settings → AirPlay and HomeKit → Allow Access: “Anyone on the Same Network” (at least while pairing).
- Android TV and Google TV: the TV is on, and its “Android TV Remote Service” is up to date — open Google Play on the TV and update it.
- Samsung TV: the TV is on and on the same network. To turn it on from the phone, switch on Power On with Mobile in its settings (Network → Expert Settings).
- LG TV: the TV is on and on the same Wi-Fi network; allow the phone in the dialog on the TV. To turn it on from the phone, switch on Mobile TV On (Turn on via Wi-Fi) or LG Connect Apps in its settings (Network, or Connection → Mobile Connection Management).
- Roku: the Roku is on and on the same Wi-Fi network, and its Network access is Enabled (Settings → System → Advanced system settings → Control by mobile apps → Network access). To turn a Roku TV on from the phone, switch on Fast TV start in its settings (Settings → System → Power).
- Fire TV: the Fire TV is on and on the same Wi-Fi network. If it’s asleep, the app tries to wake it; if that doesn’t work, press a button on its own remote. When you add it, it shows a 4-digit PIN to type in the app.
Do I need an internet connection?
Not for the remote: your phone controls the TV directly over your home network. The internet is used for app names, icons and app search (Apple’s iTunes Search), for crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics (you can turn them off in Settings) and for purchases in Google Play.
What data does the app collect?
No account, no ads, no analytics. If the app crashes, a crash report goes to Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix it — you can turn this off in Settings. All the details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel Pro or move it to a new phone?
Subscriptions are managed in Google Play: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. On a new phone, sign in with the same Google account and tap Restore purchases on the Pro screen.
Does it work on tablets and foldables?
Yes. On a large screen your app shortcuts sit right next to the remote, and on a phone you can turn on Landscape mode in Settings.
How do I share my remote style?
In the remote builder, tap Share style to get a link. Anyone who opens it on an Android phone with Just Remote can add the style to their remotes.
Found a bug or have an idea? How do I reach you?
Write to cacaobobapps@gmail.com, or in the app open Settings → Support → Report a problem: it attaches a technical log that helps us find the cause (no TV names, PIN codes or typed text).
